The old saying, “Stick’s and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!…,” is interesting because as you see in the Bible, although someones words may not hurt you, they will hurt themselves in the end! Be careful of what you say, the Bible states that there is power in the tongue, that it glorifies our Father but also curses our brothers, and that life and death are in the power of the tongue! Don’t just be mindful of what you say to one another, be mindful of what you speak over your life and your situations and continuously pray for strength and direction!
